If you like Pokémon you've come to the right place! First I will tell you about the card. There are three kinds of cards: Pokémon cards, Energy cards and Trainer cards.
To tell how rare a Pokémon is, look in the bottom right-hand corner for a circle, diamond or a star. If it's a circle, it's common; diamond is uncommon; and star is rare. If your card is holographic, that means it's the 16th rarest or up. Under the picture of the Pokémon is the attacks or Pokémon power. Under that, is its weakness, resistance, and retreat cost. Under those is a square that has Pokémon info in it. Also in the square are its level and number. To the left of the circle, diamond, or star is a number slash 102. The higher is the most common. On top of the picture is the name, energy, and, if your Pokémon is evolved, it will have an evolution stage to the left. The rectangle under the picture is what kind of Pokémon it is, its length, and also its weight. Next to the attacks, there might be energy pictures. That many is how many energies you need to do this attack with. Also above the picture is the number of hit points, the more hit points the better. If you have a weakness of something, and you're fighting that kind of Pokémon, then the other Pokémon does double damage. If you have a resistance to the attacking Pokémon's energy, then the attack will do 30 less damage. If you have a retreat cost, you can retreat your Pokémon if you have that many energies of that kind of Pokémon. Under the picture to the left, there might be a first-edition symbol or maybe, on the left, a Jungle edition. If you have a first edition, the card is rarer. The rarest card there is is a first edition of Charzard.
On the energy cards, you will find a picture of what energy card you have, the illustrator in the bottom left-hand corner, and number in right. If you have a double energy, it'll have two pictures of energies on it and say on the bottom it's not a basic energy. There might be a first- or jungle-edition symbol, too. The rarest is a first edition of double colorless energy.
Trainers are cards you can only use once. If you have a trainer and you want to use it, on your turn, take it out. Do what the trainer says, and your Pokémon might get healed, or you might have a better chance of winning. These two might have first or jungle editions. The rarest trainer is the first edition of Clefairy Doll.
Regular booster packs come with eleven cards. Jungle booster packs come with eleven, too. Theme decks come with sixty. And the same thing with starter sets. In addition to each starter set is a first edition of Machamp.
Now I'm going to list what Pokémon I have. In the chart, the star in a circle
() means the
card is a rare holographic card, even though only a normal star
(
) is shown on the card
itself.
